Happy New Year from SGCPS!

To our St. George Family & Supporters:   Happy New Year! Over 500 individuals and businesses have supported our efforts in 2016. We would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the significant progress in our mission to reopen & restore the former St. George Church. With the help of our St. George Family and our supporters, it has been a productive year. 2016 in review January It was announced that the closing mass will be on April 3. A group of parishioners notified the Diocese of their intention to appeal this decision. February St. George Church Preservation Society (SGCPS) received word from the IRS that their 501(c)(3) status was approved retroactive to August, 2015. March A Town Hall Meeting was held to update the community on the efforts to reverse the decision to close the church. SGCPS organized a pledge campaign that resulted in a pledge total over $50,000.  127 parishioners signed mandates to support an appeal to the Vatican. The appeal documents were sent to th
