Memorial Day 2021

Memorial Day 2021 We remember and honor those who served. -St. George Church Preservation Society Photo Credit: Helen Baney, Class of 1942 On December 7, 1991 The St. George World War II memorial was restored and rededicated. Inscribed are the names of the 1,017 who saw service including the 35 who lost their lives. The memorial is presently in storage by the Diocese. Church Renewal Success Stories

We would like to share some recent news about Catholic Churches that are cared for by Private Organizations like SGCPS   As we parishioners and the St. George Church Preservation (SGCPS) continue to patiently wait for a decision regarding our Vatican appeal of the closing of St. George Church (St. John Vianney), we continue to pursue an agreement to reopen, restore, and care for the church at no cost to the Diocese. We are inspired by the many successful ventures that have taken place in other dioceses. We would like to share two recent bulletins published by the  St. Benedict Tridentine Catholic Community  near Detroit, MI. They describe some of the many success stories of Catholic churches that are owned or cared for by private organizations like SGCPS with the approval of their diocese. Our proposal to reopen and restore St. George Church along with the support and potential funding sources that could be made available to us present an achievable outcome when compared to some of the
