Happy New Year! St. George Statue Returned to Allentown
We are happy to announce that the St. George statue that was originally placed on the Schramm Hall gym in 1957 is now displayed on Alla Famiglia Restaurant at 800 Warrington Avenue. (formerly the Hilltop Theater, Autenreith's 5 & 10, Golden Dawn Supermarket & Shwartz's Market) The statue was removed when Schramm Hall was sold in 2013. It was rescued by a faithful parishioner, Gary Lindner (1951-2017). Gary's family donated the statue to SGCPS in 2017. SGCPS coordinated and funded the repair, restoration and mounting of the statue which was installed on December 28, 2025. We are thankful to Jonathan Vlasic, owner of Alla Famiglia, for providing a prominent place for the St. George statue in the Allentown neighborhood. -SGCPS
