St. George Church Preservation Society News & Archives

To our St. George Community: Recent activity indicates that the Diocese has moved forward with dismantling the interior of the church. The Stations of the Cross have been removed and scaffolding surrounds the altar. Other marble panels have been removed. It appears that stained glass windows will also be removed. We assume that the sacred items are being removed so that the structure could be transferred to another owner. To our St. George Community: We've noticed some activity at the church this week.There is some work being done with scaffolding inside, and a large forklift out front.
