The Closing Mass was not necessarily the Final Mass

On Sunday, April 3, 2016, 796 people attended the Mass of Closure at the former St. George Church. This time of disappointment and sadness was mixed with the comfort of being together with family and reconnecting with so many of our Allentown neighbors, classmates, and friends. We joined together to continue the legacy of St. George.

Jim Falcioni and our Choir

We are thankful to Mr. Jim Falcioni, our Choir Director, who returned in December in time for the Christmas season. Jim recruited former choir members and new volunteers to form a small yet dedicated group that sang during the masses through Lent, Holy Week and Easter. Our choir was joined by guest singers and musicians and they provided the beautiful music and songs at Mass on Sunday.

Reopen & Restore

The decision to reopen our church now rests with the Congregation for the Clergy in Rome. On March 17, 2016, our group of parishioners asked the Congregation to reverse the decision to close the former St. George Church and to resume weekly mass. Please pray for the Congregation as they consider the appeal.
